LN Drum Kits – MPC Expansion Pack

LN Drum Kits is an MPC expansion pack built around a collection of custom-designed drum kits inspired by the production styles and electronic drum aesthetics associated with iconic pop and dance records of the 1980s era.

The expansion includes 7 fully programmed kits:

• Lucky Stars
• Overdrive and Phaser
• M Jackson
• Crazy for You
• 1999
• Let’s Hear It for the Boy
• Dry Kit

Each kit contains approximately 45 Completely Raw Samples, along with layered samples that use MPC plugin processing and external analog processing. This expansion includes over 100 original sourced samples that are used throughout the expansion. The library combines, acoustic elements, processed transients, and custom-recorded textures.

A few sounds were created from original recordings, including hand-recorded finger snaps, pencil percussion, and small glass struck with pencils were recorded. A few samples were layered with timing offsets to create wider stereo movement, natural variation, and thicker transient response.

The “Overdrive and Phaser” kit incorporates hardware-based processing using a BOSS SD-1 Super OverDrive and a Moog Mooger fooger phaser unit.

Subtle stereo panning was also applied by use of the MPC plugins throughout various kits to create additional space and movement within the drum programs.

The expansion also incorporates multiple clap layering techniques, selective reverb processing, and detailed effects-chain work designed specifically for MPC playback. Certain pads use velocity-sensitive analog-style processing from external analog means to add harmonic coloration and create more dynamic responses.

All kits were individually mixed and balanced to function as complete playable drum programs while still allowing flexibility for sequencing, layering, and further sound design.

Every sample included in this expansion was custom created or uniquely processed for this release and is not sourced from publicly distributed sample libraries.
